My wife and I are flying to Austin today for the Austin City Limits Festival. Hurricane Rita is going to hit the Texas coast sometime on Saturday.
Even in the center of the state, we should be pretty wet for most of Saturday. Looking forward to seeing Wilco, The Allman Bros., The Drive By Truckers, and the Black Crowes. It's good to get away.

20 Years coming up
I just found out......Next July will be the 20th Year High School Reunion for members of the Fairport High School Class of 1986....I'm not sure whether or not I will go. Even though I still have all of my hair and maintain my extremely good looks I'm thinking that the 10 year reunion was enough. I don't want to look at pics of everyone's kids. I want to know who got fat, who got divorced, who's been in trouble with the law, who's gone to war, who went gay, who found God and who's still lost.I want to hear some real horror stories and reminisce as well.
In the 20 years since , I've lived in Buffalo, Los Angeles, New York City, Atlanta, Yakima, Seattle, New York City and now San Francisco. I've seen and done so many things, yet don't feel like I've accomplished much except writing 100 songs, writing 1000 poems, creating two cds, fronting 3 bands and playing drums in 2 more, playing CBGBs, co- designing five nightclubs in NYC, driving across the country five times, being in NYC for 9/11, loosening the slow choke of depression, being on a game show on VH1, getting married to a great lady and staying very close to 5 friends from Fairport, New York .(four of which still live thereabouts).
Most of my 640 or so classmates probably stayed put and pushed out babies and built bigger houses than their parents did. Some are probably on their 2nd family van, playing fantasy football, addicted to the Fox News Channel, and climbing their ladders wherever they may be. I hope some have had a storied life such as my own. I'm sure some have....we shall see.

3 Gig Weekend
I had a 3 gig weekend and I'm still tired. We played in Chico, Ca., San Francisco, Ca. and in the Napa Valley, Ca. I don't know how those guys in the band do this every weekend. Now I'm back to the daily grind of making peoples houses beautiful for them. This post is boring. Goodbye.

Sleep Comes Down
I took a sleeping pill last night. These are the same sleeping pills I keep handy to drug me into oblivion when I'm flying. To me flying equals dying, and the pills have actually never worked. I end up in like a paralyzed state in my seat but still able to hear everything around me..like bottles falling off of trays and old ladies screaming through bad patches of turbulence. I get off the plane in a foggy, drooling mess.
After a year of sleeping terribly in a constant dream/switch/toss/turn mode, I thought I'd try one of those little French pills I got on my honeymoon. Well, it worked . I woke up in the same position I fell asleep in and my back doesn't feel like I got beat up by a bunch of soccer hooligans. hurrah.

Jefe Is Away
Jefe is at Burning Man for the sixth straight year as we speak. For those of you who don't know, Burning Man is a freakout celebration of just about anything you want to celebrate(mostly creative expression) in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada. There's lots of friendly drugged out nakedness occuring and incredible art installations to be seen. It is held every year on the week leading up to and including Labor Day.Here is a link to all things Burning Man..burningman.com. I have sent him there with recording equipment and hopes that he will get some good material for some upcoming podcasts. I hope to post any really good photos he gets here as well. But for now, you can listen to the most recent shows (#12, #13). There is a direct link to the download feed in my links section to the right, or you can go to itunes or podcastalley.com (search for The Seano and Jefe Show at both locations.) have a good day........seano

Born on the Bayou
Thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost everything in Louisiana and Mississippi. I've just been mesmerized by CNN these last few days. Maybe we could send some soldiers who are sitting on their asses in Iraq back home to help. At least they would know what their mission was... Shame on the looters. We're all watching you...the whole world is watching you snatch sneakers ,beer, jerseys and guns from department stores as your brothers and sisters cry for help or die around you.
